These Treadmill running tips will help you get the most from your workout.

You can get a full body workout and really push yourself using a treadmill. Set up a good exercise routine to keep yourself from boredom.

Here are some thoughts...

Tip #1: The Gym or Home

A treadmill at home is best. Why? You don't have deal with gym memberships or waiting your turn. Also, you won't have to get on equipment that someone else sweated all over. Ewwww.

With a treadmill at home plan specific times each day you'll get on it. Otherwise, you'll become lazy and begin using it to hang your clothes from. Who hasn't done that?

Tip #2: Good Posture and Form

Clearly running on a treadmill is different from running outside. Each situation places unique demands on your body.

For this reason, many people have bad posture and form on a treadmill. This can lead to injuries or other problems. Prevent this by consciously monitoring how you're running. Watch yourself in a mirror or have someone else watch you. Either way, focus on form.

Tip #3: Use the Incline

Set your incline between 1 and 3 degrees for all runs. It'll help simulate outdoor running. Vary the incline to simulate hill running, too. Incline changes make your runs more challenging and reduce boredom.

Variations not only build your endurance they strengthen and shape the junk in your trunk. A shapely derriere and legs are always very attractive.

Tip #4: Warm Up

Warming up your body before exercise is essential. Do this at a low incline and slow speed. Get your blood pumping and get your muscles ready. You'll reduce injuries this way, too. A good warm up takes about 5 minutes.

Pump your arms or perform military presses to increase your heart rate and tone your arms. You can do this with or without light weights.

Tip #5: Cool Down

Cooling down is as important as the warm up. Take 5 minutes to allow your breathing and heart rate to return to normal.

Perform light stretching. It'll relax your muscles, minimize soreness and reduce injury.

Tip #6: Stay Off The Handrails

As treadmill running tips go this is an important one. Holding the handrails is for safety. It doesn't help your workout. If you're doing this, than you may be going to fast or you're not focused on your form.

Holding the handrails won't get the best workout and you could hurt yourself.

Tip #7: Use Music For Motivation

It shouldn't surprise you that running on a treadmill may become boring. Listen to music to stay alert and make your workout fun.

Choose upbeat music so you can run to the tempo. Create a play list of jogging songs with mixed tempos. Start slow with warm up music, progress through the workout to an upbeat tempo and end slowing down again for the cool down.

Tip #8: Keep Water Nearby

Stay hydrated while you workout. Keep a water bottle on hand so you can drink when needed. Provide your body with adequate hydration to help you to maintain a high energy level throughout your workout.

These treadmill running tips should get you off to a good start. Use all of the above suggestions the next time you step on the treadmill and enjoy a great workout.
