Jogging in Place
Jogging in place for a person jogging helps keep your heart rate up, but you can also do this at home and turn commercial breaks into
fitness
breaks!
Most of the time, I see joggers do this at cross walks while waiting for the light to change. They do this, of course, to keep their heart rate up since they've already begun exercising. Depending on where your jogging you may have seen these frequent stops by other joggers. However, this can be a great form of exercise to practice throughout your day or when you're at home watching television. If you're unable to commit to 30 minutes of jogging each day because of your schedule than consider implementing little fitness snippets. Experts suggest 30 minutes of daily exercise to help with weight loss, reduce heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.
On days you need to squeeze in extra fitness minutes, than think about stationary jogging as a helpful way to get those minutes into your day. You may be able to do this at work for a few minutes to get a break from sitting down. It can help to wake you up, get your blood pumping and reduce stress. If it's not possible to do at work, then fit this time in during commercial breaks while watching television. You can start jogging slowly or faster by getting your knees up. You can shadow box, skip rope (without the rope) or perform jumping jacks to break up your routine. In three minutes time you will elevate your heart rate particularly if you begin moving your arms above your head.
Before you know it you'll have burned extra calories and helped strengthen your cardiovascular system. Any time you can get your heart to work a little harder while breaking a sweat is good for you. These ten minutes each day will help with
weight loss
and your goal of incorporating 30 minutes of daily exercise into your routine.
