Jogging In A Jug: Hype or Hope?
Jogging in a jug? What is it? And, could it be that special elixir to help us lose our fat?
Losing weight and keeping it off is no easy task. It often feels impossible to stay on track when sticking with a diet. This is the main reason so many different options are on the market. You’ve got home delivery choices from Medifast and Jenny Craig diet foods to methods such as jogging in a jug.
There doesn't seem to be an end in sight when it comes to your choices.
The problem is many of these choices are hyped up with little evidence backing their claims. For example, jogging in a jug is a mixture of common ingredients including:
- grape juice,
- apple juice, and
- apple cider vinegar.
What’s The Hype?
This miracle mixture was cooked up by a farmer named Jack Williams. At 64-years-old he claimed it helped him overcome his heart disease and arthritis. Williams cleverly used the media to sell his product claiming a couple ounces of this mixture a day could prevent organ cancer, heart disease, arthritis and help with weight loss.
In the early 1990s the FDA found there was no sufficient proof the mixture worked. And, they destroyed up to $77,000 worth of the product.
A Healthy Diet
This product is a perfect reminder of how miracles in bottles don’t work. And, if you want to get healthy and stay healthy it’ll take real work and not simply drinking a couple ounces of “magic stuff” a day.
Eating a balanced diet low in saturated fats but high in protein, fiber and healthy fats is the safest and most effective way to keep your figure under control.
In addition, regular daily exercise aids in weight loss and weight management. Jogging is a great way to keep your heart healthy and shed extra pounds. You can build up to a jogging routine, by walking first until you’re ready to challenge yourself more.
Jogging for Health
Jogging is a natural muscle toning exercise so you can tone your butt and thighs while also burning fat and reducing your overall body weight.
Jogging can help improve your athletic abilities, your stamina and your commitment to exercise. You might even find yourself enjoying this fitness exercise and signing up for some local running events!
Start A Tradition
Special occasions (such as a holiday) are a great way to get the whole family involved in a jogging event. You’re all together anyway and it’s a great opportunity to begin a new family tradition. You’ll promote a healthy activity for yourself and your loved ones.
Those who have certain health conditions or physical injuries might find jogging too hard. Instead, consider walking, riding a bike, using a treadmill or getting involved in yoga to help you toward achieving your fitness goals.
Make exercise fun, eat well and stay consistent for best results!
