My Story

Hello my name's Elaine Bulawin and I created this website because I want to inspire people to lose weight through jogging and to know that they can do it. I know because jogging helped me lose weight and I'm continuing to shed the pounds.

I gained a huge amount of weight during my pregnancy. I ate whatever I liked in whatever portions I wanted and gained a whopping 63 pounds! I'm not suggesting anyone gain all that weight since it's not safe to do. Even my doctor told me to slow it down that I was only eating for one plus half of a portion more for the baby. Yeah, right. I still ate...and ate some more. Of course with all that pregnancy weight comes some problems. Too much weight gain leads to cesareans, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes and other issues. I had a cesarean and figure my weight was a factor in the decision although other issues arose at the time as well.

All the same, I told myself I'd deal with my fat loss after my daughter was born. I was in no mood to do much before then not with an achy back, sleepless nights and my general fatigue. So when my daughter was born, I absolutely needed to lose the fat not only to feel good about me but to be healthy for her.

I didn't start right away. I just didn't feel up to doing anything but trying to adjust to this new little life in my life. I was wrapped up with the joy of having her and being a new mom.

I knew when I returned to exercise jogging would be my choice because I'd jogged previously and it helped me build endurance so I could participate in several running events. I also found jogging to be an enjoyable activity. It gives me a chance to think quietly without interruptions or distractions. I like the me time, the fresh air, the freedom to go any where and just being outdoors enjoying the scenery.

I'm also encouraged to see other joggers. I know they're trying to lose weight or reduce their blood pressure or simply get away for a little bit just like me. I also value the sense of achievement I feel when I've completed my morning jogs. It feels good to know I'm starting my day off right.

Exercise isn't the most exciting thing for many of us to do, but it's probably the most important thing we can do for ourselves. I know my mother has been ill with diabetes for a long time. She's aged tremendously over these last few years because of her disease. She was diagnose long before diabetes ever became as popular to hear about as it now is.

Now all the dialysis and doctor visits, medicines and exams have all worn her down. She's a fighter all the same, but, as I've seen, diabetes extracts the vitality and energy from its victims. With regular exercise like jogging you can reduce your chances of developing diabetes, which is why jogging is a big part of my life.

Jogging has helped me lose my pregnancy weight, it keeps me fit, energized and hopefully healthy enough to avoid my mother's fate. After the delivery of my baby and several months of inactivity, I'm happy to be jogging again -- this time with my daughter! I enjoy pushing her along in her jogging stroller and she enjoys the ride. It's great to see other moms out there jogging with their little ones, too.

I hope you find this website informative, useful, encouraging and supportive of your efforts to lose weight and become a fitter you! Jogging is a safe, natural way to burn calories and reduce fat but your determination, hard work and desire to get healthy is what will make the difference for you.

To your jogging success!
